We are excited to be offering an opportunity for a counsellor to join Demelzas Family Support Department. The postholder will manage their own caseload providing counselling for Demelza family members; from point of diagnosis to bereavement support.
We are looking for a compassionate, creative and skilled individual to provide sessions around anticipatory grief and to those that are bereaved. There are a variety of interventions delivered by Family Support, both face to face and virtually, which include Bereavement Cafes, memory services and specialist creative groups. This role will assess referrals for counselling support, attend and be part of multi-disciplinary working and engage with other organisations that work with families facing bereavement. To be successful in this role you will be registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and possess post qualification experience of working therapeutically with adults and families. You will have experience of working in a health care, social care or education setting. You will be able to demonstrate a flexible working style to accommodate individual difference in according to age, culture and family context. You will be team oriented, while having the ability to work well on your own initiative as well as with others, at Demelza events, or in-house activities.
Demelza require some flexibility with the working pattern to facilitate evening or weekend sessions. We understand the importance of flexible working in order to maintain a healthy work/life balance and offer many different configurations, including a combination of remote and on-site working.
